Cliveden House Wedding Photographer
As a Cliveden House Wedding Photographer, I have a pretty amazing job. I spend my working hours in idyllic locations, surrounded by happy people, capturing one of life’s most romantic moments. Ever since I photographed my first wedding here, I have loved being a Cliveden House wedding photographer. Since it was first built in 1666, Cliveden House has seen more than its fair share of parties. Popular with both Victorian royalty and modern day celebs, Caroline and Daniel picked a great venue for their wedding.
Located in over 300 acres of well-maintained blossoming National Trust gardens, this award winning hotel was the ideal backdrop for Caroline and Daniel’s big day. The photographs show the expanse of the picture-perfect gardens, the splendour of the house, and the happiness of the couple on their wedding day. Caroline and Daniel asked me to take their posed wedding shots in the gardens, amidst the natural beauty and blooming flower beds.
After the ceremony, I asked Caroline and Daniel to take a private stroll through the gardens, as I followed with my camera to capture their first moments as newlyweds. Caroline and Daniel walked hand in hand through the gardens, and I was able to take some stunning photos of them. I am an artistic photographer, and always make use of the surroundings in my photographs. There is a great photograph of Caroline and Daniel walking down a path between some well-trimmed and eye-catching topiary. There’s also a beautiful image of the newlyweds embracing in front of the famous fountain of love amidst the grounds of Cliveden House.
Cliveden House Hotel
Cliveden House is set in Berkshire and steeped in history. The house itself dates back 300 years. For a Cliveden House wedding photographer, beauty and elegance are not hard to find. In front of the ceremony venue sits a beautiful lake, and I was able to take some documentary style shots of the wedding guests drinking champagne on the lawn as the sunlight streams through the trees across the lake. Caroline and Daniel asked me to capture as much of the venue’s beauty as possible, so their wedding album features the imposing wooden stairway, the reflection of the forest on the still lake, and the breath-taking view from the balcony.
Reportage Wedding Photography
Caroline and Daniel wanted their wedding album to tell a story. Rather than just posed shots, they asked me to photograph the day as it happened, making sure to capture the raw emotion and enjoyment of all those present. For friends and family unable to attend, the wedding photographs should let them experience the day. For reportage style shots, I don’t direct the shot or tell people where to stand, I simply observe and capture moments of significance.
I describe my photography as capturing the ‘in between’ moments. Of course, I also photograph the big moments, but it is the little things I feel really tell the story of the day. Weddings are heavily orchestrated affairs, with certain things happening at scheduled times, but between all of those moments, are smaller, equally significant moments. The nervous laughter, the intimate hand holding and the tearful smiles all help to tell the story of the day.
As well as the reportage style photography, Caroline and Daniel asked me to take a small number of posed photographs. We took a number of shots with close friends and family, and then a series of images of the couple spending time alone. There is a beautiful photograph of Caroline and Daniel sitting in the lounge of the hotel. The wooden panels on the walls, the grand carvings above the fireplace, and the beautiful flowers in the corner of the room set the scene. Caroline and Daniel are sitting on a window seat in front of an open window, talking over their champagne, it’s a beautiful photograph. Weddings are so busy, I think most couples appreciate the quiet time they get while photographs are being taken.
