National Liberal Club Wedding Photographer
Laura and Karl invited me to photograph their wedding ceremony at a Greek Orthodox Cathedral, and the wedding reception at the National Liberal Club. Both of these venues are stunning, and Laura and Karl are a lovely couple, so I was really looking forward to the day.
I started my day with Laura, capturing her transformation as she got ready for the wedding. There was a lovely atmosphere as Laura and her bridesmaids had fun preparing for the day. One of the things I like to do is capture the ordinary moments of the day - sisters giggling, kids playing, and the Priest preparing for the ceremony. These moments aren’t big parts of the day, but they are what makes it unique. There is a photo of Laura about to enter the Church, lit up by the daylight and framed by the darkness inside the Cathedral, reaching out to get a breath mint off her father. At first glance, it’s a beautiful photograph of a bride about to enter a Cathedral, but at closer look it’s a woman nervously preparing for her first kiss as a married woman.
After the ceremony, I followed Laura and Karl to the National Liberal Club to take some photographs. The National Liberal Club has one of the most beautiful staircases I have ever seen. It is grand, imposing and made from marble, and I wanted to feature it in some of the wedding shots. There is a great photo of Laura and Karl walking up the stairs together. The staircase frames the couple, and the vibrant red carpet brings out the deep reds in Laura’s wedding bouquet. The photograph really captures the elegance and magnificence of the wedding venue.
Documentary Wedding Photography at National Liberal Club
Laura and Karl asked me to utilise my documentary wedding photography skills to capture their day. They wanted me to capture as much as possible, not just the staged photos and group shots. It was a Greek Orthodox wedding, and this meant there were lots of Greek traditions to be photographed throughout the day. I love capturing the special rituals and traditions that help to make weddings such a special event. I used documentary style photography to capture the money dance, the traditional way of giving gifts at a Greek wedding. Money is pinned to the brides dress, and each guest takes their turn to add money until the dance ends.
Greek Wedding Photographer
As a National Liberal Club wedding photographer, I was excited by the awe-inspiring architecture and impressive elegance that this venue had to offer. Everywhere I looked there was more beauty and grandeur to be found, which meant all of the wedding photographs had breathtakingly beautiful backdrops and settings.
Laura and Karl love the city, and chose a central London venue to reflect this. The setting was important to them, so as well as photographs showcasing the grandeur and beauty of the National Liberal Club, I also wanted to take some photos that showed London in all its glory. The resulting photo is perfect, it shows Laura and Karl slow dancing in front of their wedding venue. Surrounded by darkness, but lit by a solitary spotlight, the couple look romantic and intimate. Behind them, the busy city life continues, traffic can be seen whizzing past, showing the London never stops, not even for a wedding. In the distance, the London Eye is lit up blue, and a red bus can be seen entering the shot.
Please get in touch to discuss your requirements for documentary wedding photography at National Liberal Club. I am a London based photographer with experience of shooting weddings at this historic location. I travel across the world photographing weddings, and am always excited to visit new venues and locations, as well as revisiting old favourites and finding new and unique settings for photos. I specialise in documentary style wedding photography, capturing the day as it happens. I also offer posed and artistic shots, but my expertise lies within documentary style photographs. I capture the in between moments - the nervous hands, the private glances, and the enjoyment of the guests - the things you might miss on the day.
