Wedding Photographer Israel | Mika + Tomer

Wedding Photographer Israel

I really don’t want it to seem like I’m bragging, but I was invited to photograph a wedding in Israel recently. I must have the greatest job in the world. I work with couples on the best day of their lives, I am surrounded by happy guests, and I get to do something I love for a job. Photography is my passion, and I am so grateful to have a job that I love - especially when it takes me across the world.

For a London wedding photographer Israel was a break from the norm. Free from the hustle and bustle of inner city London, and away from the nerve wrackingly unpredictable British weather, Israel offered something new. Israel is a beautiful location, there are beaches, oceans and plants as far as the eye can see. It is a lovely country, and a beautiful wedding location, and I was honoured when Mika and Tomer asked me to capture their special day.

Though I usually work alone, for this wedding I worked alongside Asaf, a fellow wedding photographer. Asaf was easy to work with and we understood each other’s differing styles and work practices, it was a match made in heaven. Mika and Tomer wanted to have two photographers so that as much of the wedding as possible would be captured on film. Television and film productions are filmed using various cameras from different angles, and this is what Mika and Tomer wanted Asaf and myself to do. For example, if one of us was photographing the couple saying their vows, the other should be capturing the emotions on the faces of the guests.

Mika and Tomer are a lovely couple with elegant taste. Their wedding was stylish, beautiful and fun. As is traditional at Jewish weddings, the wedding photographs were taken before the ceremony. This allowed me to capture the moment Mika and Tomer met for the first time on their wedding day, and the loving and emotional hug that followed. Tomer was speechless when he saw Mika, and they both had tears in their eyes as they embraced.

I spent a couple of hours with the couple before the ceremony, taking photographs of them enjoying some time alone. I like using shadows and light to create unique and beautiful photographs. There’s a great photo of Mika and Tomer’s shadows, with him kissing her on the hand, against the wall of a home. As well as some shots taken around the home, Mika and Tomer also wanted photographs of the two of them at the ceremony venue before the wedding. There is a beautiful photograph of the couple standing on the lawn, just in front of the Chuppah, as the sun was starting to set. The natural sunlight and vivid colours look great.

The couple chose a wonderful venue. Everywhere you turned there were beautiful, elegant backdrops for photographs. Once the sun had set, and darkness had descended over Israel, I took the couple up to the roof terrace for some photographs. Nature is filled with beautiful photo opportunities, and sunset is one of the most romantic. Mika and Tomer stood, hand in hand, looking out across the city as the sun set. The photo is beautiful, the couple look strong, powerful and (I hate to be cheesy, but…) on top of the world. The picture is dark, but the couple are highlighted by the city lights, and the stunning oranges and blues of the sun setting behind them add an extra layer of wonder to the photo.
Jewish Wedding Photography Israel – Tel Aviv
As you can see from the photographs, Tel Aviv is a beautiful city. Nicknamed the city that never sleeps, Tel Aviv is popular with young professionals and party goers as well as tourists wishing to sight see. As far as wedding locations go, Tel Aviv is simply beautiful.
