Engagement Photography Session London

Engagement Photography Session London

I offer tailored engagement photography sessions in London and the surrounding areas. Asking your loved one to marry you is a big step, and some people feel terrified that they may be turned down. Likewise, those asked are often taken by surprise, and thrilled that they are going to spend the rest of their lives together. Couples choose to have engagement photographs taken so that they can look back on this period of their lives, and reflect on how they felt during those early, exciting days of engagement. As the setting of an engagement photo session London offers a wide mix of settings, backdrops and locations.

There are lots of different reasons why couples choose to have engagement photographs taken. For some, professional photographs are the perfect way to break the news to friends and family, especially those living overseas who may not see the couple before the wedding. Some couples use their engagement photographs to create Save the Date cards, wedding invitations or to display at the wedding venue when the big day finally arrives. For couples who are announcing their engagement in a newspaper or family newsletter, a professional photograph is a great accompaniment.

I have done a wide range of engagement photography sessions in London. Some couples want quirky images that can be used on wedding stationery, and others want the photographs to tell the story of their relationship. I am often taken down memory lane with the couple, stopping off at the location of their first date, and the setting of the proposal, along the way.

Whether you want the hustle and bustle of city life, or the calm and serenity offered by public parks and gardens, we will be able to find the perfect setting for your engagement photography sessions in London. I live in London, and am always looking out for new and beautiful locations for photography shoots, and am always open to suggestions.

Some couples choose to have natural photographs of themselves spending time together as a couple. For couples who feel uncomfortable around the camera, or aren’t fans of posed shots, then these are a great option. One of the couples I photographed, sat talking together in London, while I photographed from afar. The resulting image shows the couple in the distance, framed by a street musician, it’s a lovely photograph and really makes London come to life.

Another couple, who loved living in London, took a stroll through the markets on a snowy day, while I photographed them. There’s a great shot of this stylish couple, walking arm in arm through the snow, as the vibrant colours of London’s market stalls pass by in the background. Whether you love London’s alternative markets, or the glamour of the boutique stores the city has to offer, we can incorporate this into an engagement photography session London.

The same couple, on the snowy day, made the most of the weather by having a snowball fight on a bridge during their stroll. London has great weather, glorious days in the summer, and snow-filled nights in the winter, and it’s great to be able to use this in the engagement photos. Something simple like a snowball fight can change the feel of the pictures, unleashing the couple’s fun side.

London is a huge city with lots of potential for photo shoots, and there is always something unusual to be found. During a photoshoot with one couple, we stumbled across a fairground and thought it would make an excellent setting for some unusual engagement shots. The couple had a ride on the carousel, and as they sat laughing and smiling amongst the vibrant colours and garish plastic horses, I took photographed them enjoying the ride.

One couple, who met on a night out, asked me to photograph them at night. There’s a great black and white photograph of the couple leaning on the back of an iconic London cab. They wanted a photograph to recreate the night they met, and tell the couple’s history, which I think this shot does perfectly.
