Pre-Wedding Photo Session London

Pre-Wedding Photo Session London

Photography is about storytelling. Ok, it’s also about lighting, positioning, and having an eye for beauty, but it’s also about storytelling. A pre-weddingphoto session London gives us an opportunity to tell the story about your life as a couple before your wedding day. Your wedding album will tell the story of your big day, but a pre-wedding photo session will provide photographs to tell the full story. From the location of your first date, to the doorstep of the first flat you shared together, we can capture these memories in a pre-wedding shoot.

London is a beautiful city, filled with a seemingly endless number of locations for a photoshoot. From the bright city lights, to the quiet of a public park, the iconic sights, to your own personal history, we can include it all in your pre-wedding photo session London.

If you’ve never had your photograph taken professionally before, a pre-wedding shoot is the perfect opportunity to get used to the camera. It will give you the chance to work out which is your best smile, what expressions look great on camera (and which don’t), and try out different stances and poses before the big day. Knowing all of this in advance will help you to feel confident on your wedding day as you face a sea of guests armed with their cameras.

A pre-wedding photo session is also the perfect opportunity to get to know me a little better. Whether you’ve already booked me as your wedding photographer, or are considering me because you like my style, a pre-wedding shoot will give you insight into how I work. We’ll spend some time discussing styles, likes and dislikes, and working out exactly what it is you want from your photographs. After the chat, we’ll get stuck in to some photography. During the shoot, we’ll get to know each other, and will be able to build a good working relationship. It’s my job to make you feel comfortable in front of the camera.

Pre-wedding photo sessions are pretty varied, with different couples wanting different things. Some want to tell their personal history, visiting relationship landmarks and memories along the way. Others just want some professional photographs taken in beautiful locations. Some people want photographs to share with friends and family, and for others the photographs may stay private.

Some couples want photographs to use on wedding stationery. One of the couples asked me to take some photographs for their Save the Date cards. We headed out into their local sun-drenched park, and took a few photographs of the couple and their dog. They brought a slate displaying the date of their wedding, and held it up so it would appear on the photograph. If you’re looking for a way to personalise your wedding stationery, a pre-wedding photo session could be just what you need.

The great thing about London is that inspiration is lurking behind every corner. On one pre-wedding shoot, we stumbled across a vintage-inspired advert that became the inspiration for one of our shots. The advert showed a couple embracing, and my couple mirrored the pose while standing next to the advert. It was great fun to shoot, and the couple kept breaking position because they were laughing so much, and the resulting photograph is lovely.

Some couples choose to wear their wedding outfits for the photographs, allowing them to take photographs in locations that would be hard to reach on the big day. There’s a great photograph of a couple sat together on a bench in London, dressed in their full wedding attire. It was an overcast day, and the photograph has a slightly dark feel to it, but the resulting picture is beautiful.
