St Pancras Renaissance Hotel Wedding Photography | Ann + Nemanja

St Pancras Renaissance Hotel Wedding Photography

As a St Pancras photographer, I was excited to be invited back to this venue to photograph another wedding. The iconic venue is perfect, and St Pancras Renaissance Hotel wedding photography is always romantic. At first glance, the venue looks like a fairytale castle, and I’m sure that is why it is such a sought after location for weddings in London. The turrets atop the building are reminiscent of a certain fairytale castle I’m sure everyone knows and loves, and the building below continues to impress. From the central clock tower, to the mass of cathedral windows, St Pancras Renaissance Hotel is the perfect venue for a wedding. With city life bustling by below, and the iconic London buses driving past, this is a great venue for a city wedding.

Ann and Nimanja are such a lovely couple, and I was delighted to be asked to photograph their romantic fairytale wedding. As is typical, I started my day taking photos of the bride. While Ann and her bridesmaids got ready in the bridal suite, I took documentary style photographs to capture events as they unfurled. Ann wanted some posed shots of her in her wedding dress before the ceremony, and a couple of other keepsake photos. There is a lovely photo of her wedding shoes, a beautiful bright blue pair of shoes. I enjoy finding new and interesting ways to present and photograph these memories.

If you were taken in by the exterior of St Pancras Renaissance Hotel, you won’t be disappointed inside. The elegance and grandeur continues throughout the hotel, with every inch showcasing beautiful architecture. The grand staircase of the hotel is instantly recognisable from a number of television appearances, including a music video for a well known all girl 90s pop group.

As Ann made her way downstairs on the morning of her wedding, I hung back, waiting to get the perfect picture of her walking down the stairs. When she reached a couple of floors below me, I leaned across the bannister and took a picture that turned out to be my favourite from the day. The staircase sweeps around, framing the picture in a mahogany swirl, as the bride can be seen walking arm in arm with her father. The beautiful detailing on the bannister, and the natural light shining through the windows, combine to give a stylish effect.

As is traditional in Greek weddings, Ann and Nimanja wore golden crowns during the wedding ceremony. After the exchanging of rings, the priest placed crowns upon the couple’s heads, and then said a blessing. Ann and Nimanja asked me to capture the ceremony using documentary style photography, and I made sure to capture this Greek Orthodox tradition in this way too. There were a number of other traditional rituals incorporated into the wedding, including drinking from the common cup, and I was careful to capture each of these traditions too. As an experienced Greek Orthodox wedding photographer, I understand the significance of each of these traditions, and feel they should be captured in the wedding album.

After the ceremony, I spent some time photographing the newlyweds away from their guests. Ann and Nimanja wanted some photos of them together, enjoying their wedding day, away from the hectic wedding reception. Since we were so close to the station, I thought it would be a great idea to make use of that beautiful location. There is a famous sculpture in the station, depicting two lovers in an embrace, and I thought that would be the perfect place for an unusual and special wedding photograph. The resulting image is great, Ann and Nimanja are in the foreground, laughing as they mimic the pose of the imposing sculpture towering behind them.

As an experienced St Pancras photographer, I offer a high standard of St Pancras Renaissance Hotel wedding photography. I understand the romance and history of the building, and how to make the most of this for your wedding photography. I am based in London, though travel across the world as a wedding photographer.
