Clissold House Wedding Photography
I love my job, I really do. I have always had a passion for photography, and feel honoured I am able to make a living doing something I love. It is always exciting to be invited to photograph a couple’s wedding, and Miranda and Ronan’s wedding was no exception.
When they selected my as their Clissold House wedding photographer, we discussed their ideas for the wedding. Miranda told me their wedding would be stylish, romantic and simple, and that she wanted the photos to represent this. Miranda and Ronan wanted their wedding album to include a mix of photography styles, and for it to include a few unique and unusual photographs from the day.
I always visit the wedding venue before the wedding, to let myself get acquainted with the features and layout of the venue. As I walk round the venue, I keep my eyes open for beautiful locations and features that would be perfect for photographs. As a Clissold House wedding photographer, I was looking forward to capturing some of the venue’s features. The building was first erected in the 18th century and is grade II listed, but it was recently updated during a refurbishment. The interior is stylish and contemporary, and full of natural light.
I offer documentary style wedding photography, and this means I am able to expertly capture the day as it happens. I try to capture as much of the ceremony as possible, not just the formal parts, but the little details that make a wedding unique.
As Miranda waited outside the ceremony, I was able to take some documentary style photographs of her. She looks calm and collected, as she waits with her bridesmaid and father outside the building. The vintage-inspired dresses the women wear look beautiful set against the green gardens in the background. I was inside the venue, waiting to photograph her walk down the aisle, but was able to take this beautiful shot of her final moments as a single woman.
Weddings are emotional occasions, filled with laughter, tears and excitement. As a wedding photographer, it is my job to capture these emotions and preserve them forever. Miranda and Ronan’s families were bubbling with excitement on the day of the wedding, and lots of joyful tears were shed during the ceremony itself. One of my favourite candid shots from the day, shows Ronan’s father and brother simultaneously wiping away tears during the ceremony. I hope that this photograph will always remind Miranda and Ronan of the love and support they have in the form of their families.
Miranda and Ronan asked for some unique shots that would look great hung on their walls at home. I found a leather chair, and asked Miranda to sit on Ronan’s knee. As the newlyweds chatted, I made my way up the picture perfect staircase. Once I reached the top, I leant over the bannister and took a photograph of the couple smiling up at the camera. It’s a beautiful shot, framed by the curved banister and twisting vines, the couple look the picture of happiness as they enjoy some private time on a very busy and exciting day.
Miranda’s vintage-inspired dress looks wonderful on the photographs, and one of my favourite shots shows her seated on the garden balcony alone. She is sat upright in a garden chair gazing out of shot. Behind her, the wrought iron railings, and blossoming garden with its vibrant shades, fade into the distance. The photograph wouldn’t look out of place in a high fashion magazine. I hope that this is one of Miranda’s favourite shots from the day, and that it is on display in her home for visitors to admire.
There is a great shot of Ronan alone too, enjoying a cigar with his brother during the evening celebrations. His brother is leaning across with a lighter, and this is the only light in the shot, giving a very dramatic effect of this age-old wedding tradition.
