The Weybridge Registry Office Wedding Photography: I’m quite familiar with Weybridge Registry Office as I shoot there on several occasions over the last couple of years. The Weybridge Registry Office located in Weybridge, Surrey is a really beautiful registry office and has one of my favorite bay windows. The lighting that comes form the window is just perfect for photography, soft and defused and allows you to shoot without any flash whatsoever.
I met Natalie and Lee for a quick meeting in Westfield in Shepherds Bush, and they booked me pretty much straight away, looks like we immediately liked each other. They told me that they were after the reportage style photography with few group shots of family and friends. This was really great for me, as I really love to capture the natural moments documenting the day as it goes with as little directions from my side as possible – which can be defined in short as documentary wedding photography.
The wedding of Natalie and Lee started for me from the registry office, as Natalie did not want any of the bridal preparations shots. So, I arrive to the venue with plenty of time beforehand and there no guests yet, so it gave me the opportunity to shoot the venue inside out and introduce myself to the registrar – a nice lady who “done the weddings” before which was actually very helpful as she was very cooperative and knew where to place herself to allow me to have a good shot once we started the ceremony.
The guests started to arrive followed by the groom and then the Bride. The ceremony itself was very emotional for everyone. Lee was a bit nervous but when he saw Natalie walking down the alley he greeted her with a big smile – well, Natalie was also smiling a lot. The party has started.
Once we completed the ceremony and the group shots in the garden, the newly married couple and their guests headed towards the nearby reception venue at Oscars, Shepperton Studios (Pinewood group). It is a new venue for weddings but can accommodate quite a big number of guests, and if any of you love films you may feel really happy to find yourself in the Pinewoods studios – you never know who can pass by…
