St. Audries Park Wedding Photography in Somerset

Jennelle + Michal

I actually haven’t met Jennelle and Michal before their wedding, something that I usually do with most couples. All our communication was via emails and phone calls, as both Jennelle and Michal live in Doha, Qatar. I was very excited from the begging but at the same time I felt that the wedding would be a very special one, both for me and for the couple. I was “warned” that high standards are expected as the couple works for TV producing promos etc. and have quite a refined taste when it comes to visual art…
I arrived at St. Audries in Somerset a day before the wedding as it was a bit of a journey for me - London based photographer. But it gave me the chance to meet the couple and the guests at a pre-wedding reception, and get some candid photos.
The wedding day was an early start, with bride getting ready in one room and the groom in the room opposite. It was actually quite handy as I could jump time between the two rooms to capture the “preparation” moments.
The weather was very changeable that day, so we had a bit of a rain in the morning but also beautiful sun in the afternoon. An old fashioned school busses took all the all us except the bride to Tauton – some 30 min away through hilly Somerset roads. Jennelle arrived with her father separately in an old Rolls Royce.
The ceremony at the church was lovely; Janelle’s uncle who is actually a priest came all the way from San Francisco to conduct the ceremony.
After the ceremony we took some group shots at the back yard and afterwards the newly-weds headed over to St. Audries for their drinks reception and wedding breakfast. The speeches were really great and moving providing a great opportunity to capture emotions, and those special moments.
Fire works were an evening surprise, which added to the splendor of the whole day.

As usual, a small selection of some of my favorites from this wedding at St Audries. Please feel free to leave a comment and share it.

Tremendous expectations from the clients, I see. But you did justice to their photos. Truly a remarkable job, Adam! The black and white effect on some of the photos looks stunningly classy. I hope you don’t mind me asking, but I am rather curious about the difference between the Black & White and the Sabatier Effect. What’s the distinction between the two?

Hi Peter, thanks for the really nice comment. As far as I know Sabatier Effec is the same as Solarisation - where dark are set to 0 and all go towards whites. You can find out more here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sabattier_effect

cheers,
